My Experience as a Fashion Student

My experience as a fashion student has truly helped me evolve into the person I am today. My journey has been filled with both tremendous growth and a few setbacks, but I couldn't be more thankful. And like they say, without the bitter you can't enjoy the sweet.
I originally transferred into the program after previously being a pre-law major (two completely different fields, I know). At first, I was extremely nervous to enter into O'More's program as I felt like although I always had an interest in fashion, I wasn't knowledgeable in the area. What was even more intimidating was the fact that all my classes, including a sewing class in which I had never touched a sewing machine before, was going to be online the entire semester due to the pandemic. Throughout my semesters here at Belmont I have been able to learn and grow so much. The growth I experienced was truly amazing. From not ever touching a sewing machine to being able to create a blazer in three months, or from not even knowing what Adobe was to being able to be considered fully skilled in both Illustrator and Photoshop in a semester is completely mind blowing to me.
Along with everything I have learned, my professors at O'More have been nothing but the best. They are always looking out for their students and truly want the best from them, which is something I will always be grateful for. The wide range of skills I have learned as a fashion student, whether it is strategizing profit margins as a buyer, being able to determine where to source/create a product, creating a marketing plan, and so many more are things I would not be able to experience anywhere else or take with me as I enter the fashion industry, and that is something I will forever be grateful for.
