Throughout my time at Belmont, I have been able to learn about such a wide variety of things. This ranges from mastering my Excel skills, to creating a tech pack in Adobe Illustrator, to working on planograms in SketchUp, and even sewing a garment. Throughout all these different endeavors, my most favorite learning experience would be learning how to forecast and using fashion resources, including WGSN. In our Fashion Forecasting class, it was so interesting to learn about the trend cycle and how we see micro and macro trends repeat themselves every couple of years. Utilizing WGSN remains my favorite fashion resource, even two years later. There is a wealth of information within WGSN that also gives you insight to the future and what we should expect. I could spend hours scrolling through WGSN as their reports are not only filled with interesting information, but also unique, editorial photos that collaborate with what they propose. I loved performing trend analysis and trend reports while taking this course. The analytical and numbers side of me also has to mention how much I loved learning within Excel and being able to analyze numbers to seek profit, creating time and action calendars for a product line, and much more!
